Chapter Philanthropy

Sigma Kappa Theta Beta provides many outlets for members to get involved with community service and philanthropic projects both inside and outside of chapter. Throughout the 2018-19 school year, Theta Beta has dedicated itself to supporting all of Sigma Kappa’s philanthropies, the La Verne community, and the philanthropic initiatives of other Greek organizations on the ULV campus.

In Spring 2019, our chapter hosted a number of service projects and fundraisers such as Sigma Kappaccino, a fundraiser at our local coffee shop, Cactus Coffee, distributed Valentine's Day cards to the residents at our local assisted living home, Hillcrest, and participated in Day of Service by making blankets and care packages for our local women's shelter, House of Ruth.

Every year, Theta Beta supports the Sigma Kappa Foundation PULSE Fund through Ultra Violet campaign events. Upcoming in the Fall 2019 semester, our current Vice President of Philanthropic Service, Teagan Griffiths, will host our annual Ultra Violet Casino Night as well as our first ever Ultra Violet Cornhole Tournament, both in support of the Sigma Kappa Foundation. Our chapter will also participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Riverside and raise money to directly support the Alzheimer’s Association and participate in National Public Lands Day on September 28 by engaging in a park clean-up.

Sigma Kappa strives to live out our value of service everyday by not only supporting all five of our philanthropies, but welcoming and seeking out other service opportunities as well.
